by Boge Quinn
Monday, January 18th, 2010, the day before the opening of
the SHOT Show, was a day devoted to "Media Day" shoots. In separate
events at various locations around Las Vegas,
Jeff, Boge and Greg were afforded the opportunity to visit many different range
exhibits, representing companies both large and small. These shooting events were organized to allow selected gun writers to have
"hands-on" experience with the various manufacturers' product lines
and new products, and to have fun shooting up lots of free ammo.
The day's events started with "Media Day at the
Range", sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, in which many manufacturers displayed
their newest products.
Later in the day the Quinn boys attended an event at Nellis
Air Force Base, hosted by FNH-USA, where they were able to shoot some of the
really cool FN products that civilians are not normally allowed to touch.
Later in the afternoon saw an indoor event (which was
welcome, as Las Vegas was experiencing some rarely-seen rain throughout the day)
hosted by Smith & Wesson and also featuring manufacturers such as Trijicon, Thompson-Center, and
Insight Technologies. Unfortunately, some of the really cool new
S&W products can't be unveiled until after the official start of the SHOT Show, so
we are sworn to secrecy for now...
