The Mako Group has just introduced a new adjustable buttstock for AR-15 rifles. With an adaptor, it can also fit some shotguns, such as the Remington 870 series. The GL-Shock uses the standard AR-15 buffer tube for the six-position stock, so installing the GL-Shock takes just a minute and needs no tools. Simply pop off the standard AR adjustable buttstock and slide the GL-Shock into place. The shock-absorbing components are built into the GL-Shock, so no other modifications are necessary. Two versions are offered; the GL-Shock and the GL-ShockCP shown here. The difference is the adjustable comb height of the CP model. Both have internal shock absorbers, which are really nice on ARs that are chambered for the 450 Bushmaster, 50 Beowulf, and 308 Winchester class cartridges. However, even on a 5.56mm AR, the GL-Shock is still a good choice. The butt pad is made of rubber, and will not slip on a shoulder. Also, there is an internal compartment under the butt pad to store small spare parts or batteries. I also really like the riser on the CP model, as it offers a good cheek weld when using scopes or other optics.

Again, one of the best attributes of this stock is that there is no change needed at all to the internals of the buffer tube. Easy installation, quality-built, and it works.

Check out the GL-Shock and GL-ShockCP online at www.themakogroup.com.
