Christians Unite

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the world in which we live is rapidly plummeting in the depths of moral decay.  Christians understand that the Bible states clearly that our world will continue to degrade until Christ’s return.  Recognizing the truth of Scripture, we still hate to see the state of our sinful society.  It gives none of us joy to recognize that our world is spinning out of control into a cesspool of sin.  Yet, for now, although we are strangers in a strange world, we must live within this sin-sick world, and do our best to not only survive, but thrive.  Our mission to evangelize the world for Christ is more critical than ever.

It has been recognized since the dawn of America that the one bright spot on the planet Earth was the United States.  Developed as one nation under God (the God of the Bible), America was a beacon in a dark world.  Our founding fathers built the foundations of our nation upon the truth of the Bible.  We were built upon a Christian foundation and upon Christian principles.  America was created to be a land of freedoms, with individual freedom restricted only by the principles of Scripture and moral society.  The same America that was once a light in the midst of a dark world now extinguishes the flame.  America is sick, wretched of sin, and needing change. America needs the light of Christ to shine again in our great nation, and it is up to us Christians to once again position our country as a lighthouse in a dark and sinful world.

America wanted change.  We voted in change based on what was perceived best for our pocketbooks and what sounded good to our itching ears.  The change we have received has been a change we didn’t need.  Our political leadership is bent on the socialization of our nation, the transfer of freedoms from individuals to the management of our Federal government.  Our current administration supports the continued moral decline of our nation, from more abortions, to sex education in elementary schools, to the removal of the Bible from our society, to the promotion of Islam, to the weakening of our military, to the endorsement of alternative sexual lifestyles, to turning our back on Israel.  Our national financial position is a wreck, yet the current administration wants to put America so deep into debt that we may never recover economically.  Change represented by DC includes allowing free citizenship to illegal immigrants, something that should fly against all previous generations of legal immigrants that gave up lives, livelihoods, families, and riches to come to this great land.  Our policies are out of whack, because our morals are out of whack.  America will never again be what America once was until we once again return to the principles of the Bible, and return America to God.

What can Christians do today?  We can pray. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We can become humble.  America was great only because America was good (I said “was” good).  America will no longer see greatness until the Christians in America recognize that we are what we are as a nation because of the mercy and grace of almighty God, and with that spirit of humility, we call upon God to heal our nation.

We can seek the face of God.  God is our strength.  Our nation was built upon the strength of God’s favor.  We can see this again, as promised in the scripture above, but we must do our part.  We must be humble, recognizing our greatness is dependent upon God’s greatness and mercy toward us.  We must pray and ask for God’s help.  We must diligently seek the face of God. In other words, we must passionately and with the utmost purpose and mission of importance go to God for our help.  Not Obama.  Not Washington DC.  Not Congress.  But God.

We can turn from our wicked ways.  God could very easily turn his wrath upon America just as he did Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible.  Yet, God could also spare America just as he did Nineveh in the Bible.  Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by the fire of God because Lot couldn’t find a few righteous people in those wicked cities.  Nineveh was a very wicked city, like America as a nation.  God sent a reluctant preacher, Jonah, to preach a message of repentance to the people of Nineveh.  After 3 days in the belly of a whale, the reluctant preacher became the passionate missionary, and he preached repentance to the city of Nineveh.  They repented, and turned from their wicked ways.  Even though God was going to destroy them, just as he did Sodom and Gomorrah, he spared them because the people of Nineveh turned from their wicked ways and came back to God.  We in America can do the same thing.  We are spared now only because of the “remnant” of Christians who stand in the gap for Biblical morality and Christianity.  To save America, we Christians must be stronger.  We must pray more.  We must repent more.  We must become more outspoken.  We must turn our nation from their wicked ways and back to God.

If we do these things, what is the promise from God?  Then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Our nation needs healing.  We have a recipe of success in front of us.  It is not the policies of wicked men in Washington.  It is the principles of God Almighty in Heaven.

Christians unite.  Join together to stand in the gap.  Let’s not let our great nation fall prey to the lunacy of our leadership.  We can make a difference.

Will you join me?
