April Fool

Today we celebrate April Fools day.  I really dont know how this day got started, but many of us have used this to play a fool on another for as long as I remember.  Back in my younger years, wed use this day to play pranks on friends and family.  It was harmless and much fun.  I guess I remain a kid, as I just played the same kind of pranks on one of my nephews and brothers already today.  Its a good day to have some fun and play some harmless practical jokes on those you love.

From recent events, as well as the overall declining spiritual condition of our nation, I see a much deeper meaning in the term April Fool.

In the US today, of the many millions of people in this great country, where freedom of religion is the foundation of our nations development, a small percentage are Christians.  With all the evidence in front of us proving Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the one true Son of the Almighty God and the only passage to eternal life and Heaven, why do so many Americans turn their backs on God and refuse to accept the salvation that only comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ?  Answer; they that do not believe in Christ are fools.

Why do we live in a country where all our nations development was based on the Word of God, the Bible, yet it is illegal and improper to show Biblical truths in government buildings or to use these truths in the education of our children?  Such laws and judicial decisions are based on the prejudice of fools.

Why do we feel that it is immoral and socially unacceptable to mistreat a cat or a dog, yet we can slaughter innocent children in their mothers wombs and it be condoned by our government?  A nation that will not protect the most innocent is a nation of fools, who turn their back on God and the least of these that we should be helping, not destroying.  Daily we murder the future generations of our society through abortion, and the judges and courts and citizens that cause and condone this action are fools.

Why do most Americans not take issue with a judicial system that will force a handicapped woman to die a terrible death from starvation?  Why do we allow a court to once again promote murder?  Why do most not see this as an introduction to legal destruction of the elderly, handicapped, or any others of burden to society?  Answer?  We are a nation of fools, blinded by lies and deceived by the media and our liberal courts.  Most do not see this as a travesty against mankind or an opening of opportunity for these same liberal courts to allow other handicapped and elderly to die at the hand of the law.  Foolish!

The majority of Americans do not see the problem in these issues.  We are blinded by lies and led about as fools.  Many of us see what is happening in our great country, and are appalled at what we see.  And, most of us do nothing about it; we are fools through our laziness and unconcern.  How long will we remain a nation of fools?  How long will we condone the travesties of our courts?  How long will be believe the lies told us by the liberal media?  How long will we remain fools?

In John 3:16-18, Jesus says:  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  This truth in itself should convince mankind that Jesus is the only means to salvation, eternal life, and to escape condemnation.  Why then do most Americans refuse to believe the truth and instead believe a lie?  They are fools.

Note that the word fool in the Bible (and as used in this article) does not denote one who is mentally deficient, but rather a person who is arrogant and self-sufficient, one who orders his life as if there were no God and no repercussion for their works of sin.

Proverbs 1:7:  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 14:9:  Fools make a mock of sin, but among the righteous there is favor.

Proverbs 14:12:  There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Jesus said in Luke 12:16-20, And he spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully.  And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no place to bestow my crops?  And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my crops and my goods.  And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease.  Eat, drink, and be merry.  But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee; then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?  So is he that layeth up treasures for himself, and is not rich toward God.

There are hundreds of scriptures relating to the foolishness of man.  We read them in the Bible and they relate with profound truthfulness to todays headlines.

So what to we do to get away from this foolishness?  Whats the answer?

a.   Lay down the foolishness of your limited understanding, and accept the truth of God through the Holy Scriptures in the Bible.

b.  Accept the fact that Jesus is the Son of God, and that he came to earth and died for your sins to atone you to a Holy God.  Accept this free gift of salvation from eternal death and Hell by simply praying something like, Jesus, I believe you are the son of God and that you came to earth and died for my sins.  I accept your sacrifice on the cross to save me from my sin and wrong doings.  I trust you to be my Lord, and I will follow you the rest of my life.  I believe this day that you have saved me, and when I die on earth I will live with you in Heaven.  Thank you for saving me, Jesus. *

c.  Recognize that the world doesnt revolve around you and I, and that as men, we make foolish mistakes.

d.  Realize that we cannot accept any treaties or actions of mankind that conflict with God.  Base your future decisions on thus says the Lord instead of thus says the liberal court and/or media.  Live your life as one with faith in God, not in the lies of man.

e.  Share the truth of God and the love of Jesus with everyone you know.  Truth is the only thing that will conflict the lies we hear every day, and the only truth is that of God Almighty as recorded in the Bible.

We have in this nation way too many April Fools Days.  Every days headlines shout that its another day of foolish actions by an ungodly nation.  Lets together do our part to share the truth to combat the lies of the fools.

The worst April Fools prank of all?  To live your life on earth believing in the lies of mankind, and turning your back on Jesus, dying, and waking up in Hell and in hearing the words of Jesus, Depart from me into everlasting condemnation, for I never knew you.
